How to adjust your glasses at home
You can easily adjust the temples and nose pads yourself, on both acetate and metal frames. You don't need to worry about breaking anything.
Watch the video to see how the adjustment is done.
Good to know before you start
Acetate and plastic frames are made of a material that can be shaped with heat. It softens with gentle warmth and can take a little bending. Inside the temples there is a thin metal core that holds its shape, so the temples stay in their new position.
Metal frames bend directly, without heating. Bend the temples gently in the direction you want and they'll stay in the new position.
Warm the temples
Acetate frames: warm the temples, for example under warm water for about 30 seconds. Metal frames: no heating needed, you can bend them directly.
Bend gently
When the temples feel flexible, bend them gently in the direction you want.
✔️ If the temples press on the sides of your head, bend them slightly outwards.
✔️ If your glasses slide down, bend the ends of the temples slightly inwards behind your ears.
✔️ If the frames look crooked, adjust the temples by a different amount on each side. Most people's ears are not exactly level, so this is very common.
Let them cool and test
Let acetate frames cool in place for a few seconds and test the fit. Repeat the adjustment if needed.
Adjusting the nose pads
On frames with nose pads, you can change the position of the pads to match the shape of your nose. When you set the nose pads wider apart, the frames sit slightly lower on your face. When you turn the nose pads closer together, the frames rise and sit higher. This applies to both acetate and metal frames.
😎 Temples and nose pads handle adjusting well. If an accident does happen, we'll take responsibility and make you a new pair.
