PRESCRIPTION
These sports glasses can be fitted with a single-vision prescription insert, which we make to your prescription. An insert is the most common and most practical way to add a prescription to sports glasses: you keep the benefits of the PC main lens, and the prescription lens can be replaced later without replacing the whole frame. You choose the insert in the lens selection. You'll find it under "Prescription sports sunglasses". If you don't need a prescription, choose "Non-prescription sports sunglasses".
Please note: the prescription insert sits close to your eyes, which is normal for all sports glasses with an insert. You can change the distance and the fit with the adjustable nose pads.

The frames are made of acetate, which can be warmed and carefully shaped. You can adjust the temples (the arms of the glasses) yourself by bending them gently by hand, or ask an optician for help – a small bend helps you fine-tune the fit. We take responsibility for all adjustments, so if something happens to your glasses, you get a new pair. Small individual differences, such as the position of your ears, can affect how the frames sit on your face. Here are step-by-step instructions for adjusting them at home.
Banaanis are made partly from biodegradable materials. Traditional plastic has been replaced with a more responsible alternative that reduces the use of fossil raw materials and lowers the carbon footprint of production – without compromising on quality, durability or design.
How can we offer optician-quality glasses at a low price?
When you buy glasses from an optician's shop, you pay for much more than frames and lenses. The shop, the staff, the marketing campaigns, the rent – in the end, the customer pays for all of it. We decided to do things differently.
Banaani works with no middlemen. You order your glasses online, and the process is simple: your order goes to the lens manufacturer, where the lenses are cut to your prescription and fitted into the frames you chose. Then the finished glasses are sent to you from our warehouse in Finland.
The result: you get optician-quality glasses, without the optician's price tag.
(This model has been used for a long time in the bigger European countries and in the USA, but Banaani is probably the first of its kind in Finland.)
